Quick Hits
Just some things that have been on my mind (OK, I know it's been almost a year so yeah)
- Cheap(er) composite sticks simply hold up better then premium composite sticks so you really do need to decide are you looking for durability or performance? I'll take performance
- More and more people are coming to the realization that to get a top end, performance skate and get it too big to get more time out of it is old school thinking and the reality is it can cause more harm then good to your feet. In the end you're better off getting a skate fit correctly and spend a little less then have it fit too big to justify the price tag
- While the new goalie specs have been problematic to manufacturer, retailer, and goalie alike at the end of the day I can't think of one goalie who has said to me the smaller, narrower equipment has affected their game in the least
- Try as they may smaller skate companies will not make an impact until they can make a skate that fits well and sizes comparably with the bigger, established guys like Bauer and CCM/RBK. Trying to explain the fact that you even tho your kid's foot has grown, brand X fits different and you actually need a size SMALLER then last year...that just doesn't fly.
- Everyone and his brother wants in on the helmet business when frankly most of the newer helmets have been a flop to say the least. I say stay within who you are
